Law and technology, side by side.

IAJUS was built by four founders with backgrounds in law, computing and data science.

Founding partner who conceived IAJUS · brings computing and law together

I hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and a law degree from the University of Brasília (UnB). I am a Federal Auditor, and I have worked for more than ten years with data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to real problems. Since 2024, the AI assistants I built for legal users have passed 800,000 conversations. That experience taught me something important: an AI model should not answer on its own when the matter depends on laws, case law and documents that change all the time. IAJUS grew out of that insight and out of my law research at UnB on the limits of generative AI in law.

  • More than 800,000 conversations in the legal AI assistants I have built since 2024.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UFBA and law degree from UnB.
  • Specialist in Data Science and Analytics from USP/Esalq; postgraduate student in Artificial Intelligence at UTFPR.
  • Federal Auditor with more than ten years of experience in data science and AI.

Lucas Arieh Medina

Founding partner of IAJUS · lawyer and criminal law researcher

I have practised law for seven years, working in criminal law, public law, municipal law and workers' rights. I studied law at UFRN and earned a master's degree in Criminal Law and Criminology at USP, always with one question in mind: how does the law work in practice? The only way to answer that question is a rigorous study of court decisions. That is why I joined the effort to build IAJUS, a responsible, secure and accurate legal intelligence for legal practice and research in Brazilian law.

  • Lawyer for seven years, practising criminal, public, municipal and labor law.
  • Law degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
  • Master's degree in Criminal Law and Criminology from the University of São Paulo (USP).
  • Drives IAJUS with the question of how the law works in practice, based on court decisions.

Founding partner of IAJUS · lawyer and professor

I have been a practising lawyer since 2009 and I am an adjunct professor at UFPI and IDP. For years I have researched regulation and technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence and data protection, and I bring that academic and practical view to building IAJUS.

  • Practising lawyer since 2009.
  • Adjunct professor at UFPI and IDP.
  • Law degree from UFPI, master's degree in law from the University of Coimbra and doctorate in law from IDP.
  • Researcher in regulation and technology, especially AI and data protection.

Founding partner of IAJUS · engineer and data scientist

I am an electrical engineer and a postgraduate student in Data Science and Analytics. I have worked in the public sector since 2018, applying machine learning to understand complex problems and to produce evidence that supports decision-making. I believe large volumes of data hide patterns that can reveal risks, opportunities and behaviors that traditional analysis would rarely find, and I bring that view to building IAJUS.

  • Federal Auditor since 2023.
  • Electrical engineer and postgraduate student in Data Science & Analytics at USP/Esalq.
  • Applies data analysis and machine learning methods to find patterns and build mathematical models.

Celeris Juris Tecnologia e Inteligência Jurídica LTDA - 68.398.872/0001-93 is the founding company and creator of IAJUS.

· Mission

Legal intelligence with the source at hand

We believe the future of law depends on an efficient and responsible use of generative AI. The answer is not a bigger model. It is giving the model access to curated, up-to-date legal information. The mission of IAJUS is to make every answer start from the official collection and end with a link you can check, with the professional always at the center of the decision.

· Values

What we will not compromise on

Source

The source in view, whenever possible

Every answer comes from a real document, with the official link to the court or gazette whenever available, so anyone can check it.

Honesty

Curation without inflated promises

We publish real numbers and explain what the collection includes and what it leaves out. When something is not covered, we say so.

People

The professional at the center

AI retrieves, organizes and points to the source. The legal decision belongs to those who practise, judge, teach and research law.

Responsibility

Academic and technical rigor

IAJUS grew out of research on the limits of generative AI in law. That honest reading of the limits guides every product choice.

· Research

The study that started IAJUS

Before it became a platform, IAJUS began as an academic question: how far does generative artificial intelligence really help in law, and where does it still fail?

Research

Aplicações e limitações da IA generativa no Direito (Applications and limitations of generative AI in law)

Undergraduate thesis at the Faculty of Law of the University of Brasília (UnB), 2024. This honest reading of the limits of AI led to the IAJUS rule: every answer points to the official court link, whenever available, so you can check it.
